However, it has acquired a certain fame in the trading circle of Pink Floyd fans. We included it here, in order to let you make your own opinion. Some say it was recorded on a cheap cassette recorder, by two guys playing guitar simultaneously, sometime during the 80s. Note that the first riff after the intro is identical to the bass riff that can be heard on the "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" version, and that earlier versions of the song (on "San Francisco" soundtrack or "Tonite Let's All Make Love in London" soundtrack) don't contain this particular riff. This leads to the conclusion that this "demo" was probably recorded after the release of "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" album.

Pink Floyd recorded 4 different studio versions of "Interstellar Overdrive". The first version was recorded in October 1966 at Thompson Recording Studios, and was later used in the 1968 "San Francisco" movie. The second version was recorded on January 11, 1967, at Sound Techniques Studios, and was used in the "Tonite Let's All Make Love in London" movie. The third version was recorded during the "Arnold Layne" / "Candy and a Current Bun" sessions at Sound Techniques Studios. Only extracts from this version have surfaced, they can be heard in the background during the CBC broadcast from early 1967. The fourth version was recorded at Abbey Road in March 1967, and is the regular version that can be found on "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" album.

These are the early chords of Barrett's song "Swan Lee (Silas Lang)". Note that the piano and jazz tunes may be due to a technical error while dubbing the original multitrack master tape onto cassette. The definitive version of "Swan Lee" was recorded by Barrett one year later and released on "Opel" in 1988. Some think this outtake comes from a Barrett solo session.

The single was later re-released as a bonus with another bootleg LP ("A Special Treat"). 'PINK FLOYD IN CONCERTO' 16 minuti di musica live da monaco di baviera".

The song that can be heard during Part 5 and Part 6 seems to be an unreleased song performed by Pink Floyd. Part 8 contains an extract from "Obscured By Clouds".
