Notes: This was another three-cam project that was initiated between myself & Loudpuppy and TaperBt (aka TwisterTapes) and his old buddy, Krispy; unfortunately, BT's tape had several malfunctions, so, I ended up using the master tape uploaded to Dime by the Remnent - thanks to him for the great audio capture.
I had previously seen Waters 8 years earlier in the Denver area, and was totally blown away by that show. In fact, I would point out that, as of the year 2000, I had not bothered to upgrade my old Floyd vinyl to CD, but, listening to an audience recording of
that show (obtained shortly after I'd seen it) inspired me to repurchase all of the Floyd CDs (in fact, several times over). Bands should take notice - concerts inspire people to listen to your music!
This particular performance included the complete performance of DSOTM that Roger had been performing at the time - which was a deciding factor in going. Much as we had done for the Van Halen '08 Denver show, Loudpuppy sat next to me and my wife, while he filmed primarily the screens; I (with assistance from my wife) shot the stage action from our way-in-the-back-but-dead-center seats, and Krispy was off to the side on the lower level. The lighting was weird at this show, and it impacts the quality of the video, but, this is well worth the download for fans of Pink Floyd and (especially) Dark Side.
Myself, I'm a fan of audience shot videos - I've shot 40 or so myself, and have 100s of old VHS tapes from collectors around the world. I really enjoy this video, but, your enjoyment will likely be determined by how much you tolerate somewhat shaky, somewhat blurry and generated picture. If you're cool with that, then this might be something you'll enjoy! Please don't profit from this transfer - share it, post it, give it away, but, don't make money off of it.
