Roger Waters wat the bass palyer with Pink Floyd, one of the best known rock bands in history.
It produced two of the world's biggest selling albums, "The Wall" and "Dark Side Of The Moon".
Pink Floyd delighted fans last year with a reunion performance at the Live 8 concert in London, drawing a line under years of acrimony.
Waters has now written an opera based upon events surrounding the French Revolution.
