Psychedelic Closet Records invites you step
into the time machine that is BBC4's "Sounds Of The Sixties", for an
incredible journey back to a time when "pop" became "rock" and took an a
whole new cultural significance. This is psychedelic rosk's golden era -
1967 to 1969.
This Half Hour special is a compilation of performances, either mimed or
live, from lost (and some forgotten) 1960's television programs, such as
Whicker's World, Look Of The Week, Twice A Fortnight, How It Is and
Happening for Lulu.
Featured artists are The Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Joe Cocker
And The Greaseband, The Nice and The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Of particular note is the late Hans Keller's antiquated assessment of the
fledgling Floyd's live performance as "terribly loud" and a "bit of a
regression to childhood". Also, the atmosphere surrounding The Jimi Hendrix
Experiences exciting live performance on Happening For Lulu is almost
palpable. |
