Here I will tell two stories, one is how I got this DVD files, and the other is
about the original publisher of this DVD. And the relationship between these two
stories.
Story one :
About five years ago, through the QQ(a Chinese social app)I met a friend named I
Love Drinking Cola(name in Chinese is 我爱喝可乐). He is a loyal PF fan. He has a lot
of things about PF. We have similar music hobbies. We all like PF and we also
like BEYOND (a rock band in Hong Kong). Although we have never met before, we
talk about music from time to time. When I learned that he had a DVD of Roger
Waters Live Shanghai, I couldn't wait for him to send it to me. With his
permission, I now share this DVD on yeeshkul. I added some extra live photos and
DVD cover. Here I want to say thank him.
Story two :
I actually saw this DVD files before I knew I Love Drinking Cola. The first time
I saw this DVD was a local website on Verycd.com ten years ago. Verycd is an
eMule sharing website about comprehensive resources. This DVD was posted by a
netizen named Simole in 2007 on Verycd, and I didn't know about pink floyd at
that time.it was 2010 when I saw this DVD on Verycd. So I didn't download it at
that time, because nobody uploaded it.
Due to the censor reasons, the Verycd website is now almost dead. Although the
website can still be opened now, this DVD is no longer searchable. At that time,
there was a backup website called Simplecd, which was used to back up the
database of Verycd to avoid being censored. Now Simplecd cannot be opened.
Fortunately, there is still a database of Simplecd on the Internet that can be
downloaded. I downloaded this database. With the help of this database, I can
find the content released by Simole on Verycd that year. I copied his post here.
Comparing the DVD files of the two stories, it can be found that the files of
the two are different. Simole released the files that were packaged into iso
file, but the one I share here is not packaged into DVDiso. Regarding this
question, I asked I Love Drinking Cola, and he replied to me that his DVD was
downloaded from the Verycd website. I don't know why he destroy the original
file directory.
At first, I was a little skeptical of what he said. I was thinking the two DVD
might be different. But there are two reasons that I believe these two DVD are
the same. First, I checked the vob files information. the files was created on
March 15, 2007, and Simole posted on Verycd on March 16, 2007. Second, in China,
if two different people or two groups of people made a DVD of Roger Waters live
Shanghai at the same time, I think this possibility is zero because it is in
China ... ╮(╯_╰)╭ . So I believe that these two DVDs are the same.
I don't know if Simole was the original recorder or producer of this DVD. I
tried to contact Simole on the Verycd website, but I didn't get a response. I
didn't find anyone who released this DVD earlier than Simole, so I thought
Simole was the original producer of this DVD.And I believe it was very few
people that had finished downloading this DVD. Thank you Simole for making the
Shanghai video for us. If anyone knows more about this DVD, please tell me,
Email: 65224486@qq.com
According to the video information at the start of the DVD, you can see this DVD
mastered by 好色仙人. I don't know if Simole and 好色仙人 are the same person. anyway,he
or her did a great job.
After I Love Drinking Cola downloaded it, he made a DVD box and cover by
himself. he burned it into physical disc, and added it to his collections. Thank
him for sharing covers with us.
Many famous Chinese rock musicians came to watch the show, not only to watch the
show, but also to learn a lesson, or to pilgrimage.
It is said that about half of the audience that night were foreigners, including
the last two who climbed on stage and threw a ball.
I added some live photos, which are all from guitarchina bbs. you can find here:
https://bbs.guitarchina.com/thread-443595-1-1.html
https://bbs.guitarchina.com/thread-443613-1-4.html
I tried to contact the publisher for some high-resolution photo, but there was
no response.
You can see some reports about Roger Waters live shanghai from Chinese local
websites:

I also found some information about shanghai live here:

I did not find any Roios about Roger Waters live Shanghai in the pf-db.com
database,or in yeeshkul or in dimeadozen.

BEYOND is one of the greatest and most influential rock bands in China. The
band's soul died in an accident in Japan in 1993. Pink Floyd's influence on
BEYOND is very large, you can see from their first album in 1986. Please allow
me to quote the YouTube link of two of these songs. If you are interested, you
listen to it! Very Pink Floyd style.
Dead Romance (Part I)

Dead Romance (Part II)

There are many people who love Pink Floyd in China, although the proportion is
small compared to the entire Chinese citizen. I think the need for music like
Roger Waters is even greater in China, not only in music, but also in education
and democracy.
I got a lot of help on the yeeshkul website, this DVD is the only thing I can
give you back. Thanks to I Love Drinking Cola, thanks to Simole, thanks to
yeeshkul!
