killing an officer of the police. Soon Mark finds himself on the road with
his mind set on getting as far away from seciety as possible. This road
eventually leads him into Death Valley and Zabriskie Point.
With Zabriskie Point director Michelangelo Antonioni shows our society to be
more alienating and hostile than the barren desert.
This much anticipated 1970 feature by italian director Michelangelo
Antonioni (Blow-Up) was hailed as the movie of the year long before its
theatrical release. Once premiered the audience found the movie to hard to
bear and it was soon taken off the playbill.
"Zabriskie Point" is in its brilliance a beautiful testiment to the death of
individual freedom and of the 60s. All beautifully scored by the likes of
Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. |
