Comments:
There was no remastering or equalization of any sort used for this audio, only splitting and saving as FLAC files.
I made two minor errors while recording.
The first error was having my gain levels set too high during the soundscape and into the 1:54 point in the first song, Interstellar Overdrive, at which point of realizing my error, I turned the gain on my Tascam down to a saner level, so that explains the volume level dropping abruptly at that point.
The second error was that I somehow accidentally pressed the record button right at the very end of the second track, Astronomy Domine, which paused recording, but fortunately I restarted it after only a few seconds, only losing a little bit of Nick's opening comments.
Overall, the recording seems pretty decent, but I apologize in advance for some of my own enthusiasm coming through on the recording, although I pretty well confined that to the song breaks.
It's also worth commenting that the 2,600 seat Murat Theatre looked sold out, or at least I couldn't spot a single empty seat, so I'm sure that was pleasing to the band, who were clearly having a great time.
It was thrilling to see the Nick's band interpret early Floyd so well, and it's worth mentioning that the two real highlights performance-wise were "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun," and "One of These Days."
The former is always great on the scores of live recordings of it that I've heard, but seeing it done live brought it up to a whole new level that was totally unexpected for me, so much so that my wife who was with me, who had the flu and was feeling marginal at best, roused and really got excited during the entire performance.
Naturally, "One of These Days" was thunderous, and the band really gave it hell, even outdoing (my opinion here) the way that Pink Floyd did it when I saw them in 1994.
