NOTE: in the set there was a 15 minute break after Walk with a
Storm. After the break Silent Night was played (before Carpe Diem). I put Carpe
Diem on the first disc, so that all could be fitted on three discs. I moved
Silent Night to the third disc, so all the Christmas songs are together. That
way you don't have to listen to Silent Night in april ;)
THE CONCERT
750 People were present at De Boerderij for the special Christmas Show by Mostly
Autumn. They have been doing X-mas gigs for the last couple of years now. It's
always fun, and they tradionally end the set with Christmas songs. This year
they also played four new songs from the new album Heart Full Of Sky, that is to
come out in februari 2007. The special limited edition was sold at the
merchandise stand.
The new songs sounded well, and we were also treated on some old material.
Especially The Last Climb was a nice surprise. The band was in a for a long one.
This concert lasted nearly three hours. No wonder there was a short intermission
after about an hour.
You don't get the intermission in this release. What's the point in listening to
crowd noise when you can enjoy Heather and Brian with the band...
In the middle of the set you'll find four instrumental songs with an Irish feel
to them. Troy Donockley was present and he gave an extra dimension with his
uilleann pipes.
It was good fun to see the 'snow' falling down during the encores. Although
Heather nearly choked on the so called snow. And Liam did his famous Noddy
Holder imitation. The set ends with the Fairy Tale Of New York (from Kirsty
MacColl & the Pogues). It was a good gig!
