case your German isn't up to par or you're just not fluent the title to this DVD
in English means "In A Festive Mood" and that's
exactly what you're about to experience with this
DVD ! Has Christmas got you down ? Financial worries ? Feeling a bit depressed ?
Let me welcome you to the sweet sights & sounds of
ELP ! And as they tap your conscience and steer you
into the path of righteousness as you then enter the kingdom of the prog-maniac
! And from there and forever more, you will not be
the same.
What I have put together for you here is the partial
concert of the 1997 Munich Tollwood Festival that
was broadcasted and the other clips of various German TV appearances from 1993.

for references to shows, etc. From what I can account for none of the material
on this DVD is officially released. Both high bias
VHS cassettes that were used for the transfer were in
prime condition for the initial transfer to DVD in XP mode.
I'd like to also express an opinion, I believe the
overall sound quality on all sources is better than the picture
quality, especially on the Tollwood show. Since I don't
have enough power or RAM on both computers that I
own to utilize certain programs to create menus or chapters-I did not. I did use
DVD Shrink to combine both DVDs and absolutely no compression was used.
I do recommend buying the official releases from ELP, there you will find a vast
amount of music. ELP did a lot of filming during their 1997 tour- such official
releases as the Katowice, Poland and the Montreux, Switzerland shows are still
readily available. Also, to let you in on a secret,
and if you're wondering how I came up with this unique title to this DVD, I'm of
Austrian-Hungarian decent and with family from Eisenstadt, Austria. They were
the ones to help me out on the title because I haven't really spoken German
since I was a little kid. Of course, I know In Einer Festlichen Stimmung will
not be as famous as names like; "Farfegnugen" or a famous quotation like; "Ich
bin ein Berliner" but, I'm just doing some wishful thinking, lol !!! Please,
never mind my silliness and have a Merry Christmas for the year 2008 !
