For one last night, Keith takes over the controls of BBC FOUR from dusk to
dawn, in a pirate broadcast. Replacing the usual channel programming
practice or convention we hear Keith's world views, life philosophy and
survival strategies as well as all things nocturnal. A compilation of films and photos by Stern featured on BBC4 as part of a series of programmes curated by Keith Richards and Julien Temple, known collectively as Keith Richards’ Lost Weekend. Superb compilation of the photography and film work of Anthony Stern (1944- ), which perfectly encapsulates the feel of the 1960s London, life, music, fashion and culture. Rather wonderful, really. Sadly due to rights issues this is not available on the BBCiPlayer catch-up service. Stern's work is rarely collected or shown but on the evidence here he has a voice quite beyond that of his avant - garde mentor, Peter Whitehead. Shown as part of Keith Richards' Lost Weekend on BBC Four. A psychedelic trip through Stern's archives (60s-70s) in signature impressionistic style. A record of the everyday interspersed with the spectacular, giving a full view of life during this exciting period. Inc footage of Pink Floyd from 13th Jan 1967 thats not in the upcoming Box set. |
