PREPARING THE RECORDING
I was standing a little to the left of the stage, about 10 meters away.
The recording itself sounded already great. Not much was done. I corrected
volume levels where needed, and added some 'air' by tweaking the high
frequencies a bit. Bass was reduced to correct a booming sound. Levels were
boosted a bit. After the correction, tracks were split at sector boundaries.
Flacs are tagged for convenient playback on compatible systems.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
It's tradition: Mostly Autumn at the Boerderij for Christmas. And it was a
lovely concert once again. Some new material was played, and it worked fine.
Iain Jennings and Liam Davison rejoined the band in 2008, so the line-up was
strong as ever. With Liam doing his Noddy impersonation once again. It was nice
to see the return of some older songs from Passengers. There was a break after
'I believe in Father Christmas', a cover from a song by Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
There were just minor flaws in the performance, so we got a good gig.
There was pracically no talking during the songs. During Above the blue the
audience was the quietest I've ever heard! Even at the bar no glasses were
washed! Hope you enjoy the recording.
